October Release ~ STRANDED ~ Don & Stephanie Prichard

Meet Don and Stephanie Prichard and check out their amazing new release ~

Don Prichard is a Viet Nam veteran who served in the Marine Corps Reserves for thirty-two years before retiring as a colonel. He is also a career architect, whose specialty in government work includes the design or prisons, courthouses, and military facilities.

Stephanie Prichard is an Army brat who lived in different countries around the world and loved it! When she married Don, she put down roots in Indianapolis, IN and stayed home to raise their family. Now that their nest is empty, she and Don have co-authored their first novel, which debuted in October 2014.

Just in time for Veteran's Day ~

All Marine Corps reservist Jake Chalmers wants is to give his dying wife a last, romantic cruise to the Philippines. Unable to save her in a mass murder aboard ship, he washes ashore a jungle island, where he discovers three other survivors. Heartbroken that he failed to save his wife, he is determined not to fail these helpless castaways.
Federal prosecutor Eve Eriksson rescues a young girl and her elderly great-aunt from the same ship. They badly need Jake's survival skills, but why is he so maddeningly careful? She needs to hurry home to nail a significant career trial. And, please, before Jake learns her secret that she's responsible for his wife's death.

DAY ONE ~ November 11 ~ Interview with the Hero ~ Jake:

AUTHOR: Jake, how in the world did you end up on a remote jungle island in the Philippines?

JAKE: All I wanted was to give my dying wife a last, romantic cruise for our wedding anniversary. She died in a mass murder aboard ship before I could save her. After several days of clinging to a boat fragment, I washed ashore this island and found three other survivors.

AUTHOR: Please tell us a little about them.

JAKE: Crystal is eleven. I found her fending off a snake that bit her elderly great-aunt, Betty. Not long afterwards, I rescued Eve from the sea. My guess is that she’s in her 30s; she refuses to tell us anything about herself.

AUTHOR: I understand the two of you hit heads over, well, just about everything.

JAKE: Make that everything! She doesn’t like me taking charge of the three of them to keep them alive.

AUTHOR: What qualifies you to be top dog?

JAKE: Although I’m a building contractor, I’m also a Marine Corps reservist. My training and experience qualify me to keep these helpless castaways alive.

AUTHOR: What are your goals for surviving on the island?

JAKE: Safety first. Always safety. Then the basics—find food, water, and shelter, set up a signal beacon to attract rescuers, repair the damaged craft Betty and Crystal arrived on.

AUTHOR: What’s proving to be the most difficult?

JAKE: Besides Eve? Safety. All of us seem to be taking turns at barely escaping death. And, well, to be frank, I struggle with why God let all this happen. I’ve always had answers for others facing tragedies, but now that I have my own I feel abandoned by God.

AUTHOR: I’m sorry, Jake. Hang in there—we’ll be rooting for you!
